The new Fall/Winter nail trend by MAC and Jin Soon has finally arrived and is available now on MACCosmetics.com! The collection features six colors, inspired by ancient China. Here’s what MAC had to say:
Mistress of the art of the sophisticated nail, Jin Soon was inspired this season by the sensual pleasures of Imperial China. A collection of hues in exotic and ravishing combination, opaque and rich with pearl essences for a subtle dimension.
This is MAC’s second collaboration with celeb manicurist Jin Soon. I missed out on last year’s nail trend, but I will definitely cop at least one color from this collection. Ming Blue and Concubine (blurple) seem to be my faves.
l-r Overlacquer, Earthly Harmony, Imperial Flower, Ming Blue, Jade Dragon, Concubine, Rain of Flowers
Will you picking up a nail lacquer- if so which one?

Hey guys, happy Tuesday. Last week, me and the girls had a very girlie night out. We got our nails done at a new “ghetto fabulous” nail salon, and went out for drinks and appetizers afterward. I opted to get a very cute, summery nautical stripe look, with a lot of pizazz on the thumbs. My toes are wearing Mod About You by OPI.
What do you think? Over done? Or completely fab?

I am BOYCOTTING Holiday Collections here on Varnished! Like I said previously, I am desperately trying to hold on to the last breaths of Summer 2010. Therefore, I will NOT be posting anything holiday oriented on this site until October 1st!
HOWEVER, being the VARNISTA that I am, I can’t stay away from new colors for too long, and with that said, one of my fave brands, China Glaze has tweeted a picture of Peace on Earth, a cute gold sparkly color from their Holiday 2010 collection.
BTW China Glaze has a new website up- check it out here

Chanel is releasing a new collection in honor of NYC’s Fashion Night out, September 10th. Last year’s FNO was a big success and I definitely will not be missing out this year. I’m so excited about this collection, especially Khaki Vert, I’ve been in search of that perfect cam/olive green. The collection will be made available in Chanel stores and online, so don’t miss out!

The release of the huge new MAC collection- Venomous Villains is drawing near. On September 30th this collection inspired by Disney’s awesomest bad guys and gals, will be available at your fave MAC counter. The collection is centered around 4 villains, Cruella de Vil, from 101 Dalmatians (my fave), Evil Queen of Snow White, Maleficent of Sleeping Beauty and Dr. Facilier of The Princess and the Frog. Temptalia has the full scoop, including swatches.
All the nail lacquers are part of the Maleficent collection, and they are shimmering duochromes. I agree with Temptalia- they do seem close to Orly Cosmic Fx, so if you were planning on purchasing either collection watch out for that. Shimmer definitely seems to be back this season, this past year, a lot of collections have been focusing on matte and cremes. But China Glaze Vintage Vixens, MAC’s F/W Nail Trend and Cosmic FX are all bringing shimmer back in a big way.
MAC Venomous Villains Nail Lacquer:
Bad Fairy- Red with multichanging pigments *standout color!, reminds me a little of Coppering eyeshadow- for nails!*
Formidable!- Teal green with pink pigment
Mean & Green- Purple with teal pigment
Descriptions from Specktra
Sidebar- I think that the selected villains Disney/MAC are cool, but there are so many crazy and elaborate Disney villains- Who would you have like to seen depicted? I wish Ursula from Little Mermaid was included- and that guy from Aladdin would have been awesome too (obviously I grew up in the 90s!)

Forever 21 has just released their first capsule collection with designer Brian Lichtenberg. Lichtenberg rose to fame for his notorious caution tape get-up featured in Lady Gaga’s telephone video. While browsing the site, I noticed this fabulous tee- perfect for varnistas like myself.
Head over to Forever 21 to check out the rest of the collection and to cop that awesome tee!

Check out my recent American Apparel Nail Lacquer haul. Right now you can pick up one polish for $6 and three polishes for $15. From l-r are Palm Springs, a cream “nude” color, Mount Royal, a nice denimy blue and Office which is my favorite and right on the turquoise/ mint trend. I think it’s quite ironic that a lot of the girls at my office are loving this shade as well lol!
Which of these three are you feeling?

Lady Gaga is covering this month’s Vanity Fair, and I must say that I love this gray and taupe look. Rocking a gray wig and a awesome creme-taupe polish, Gaga reveals alot about her dark past and present in the cover story. It seems like the young lady, who’s only a year older than myself, is battling with a lot of personal demons, which she attributes to her strong dedication to her craft. I do admire her fashion sense and I hope that she reaches some sort of peace in her life.
What do you think of Lady Gaga’s Vanity Fair cover?
